Educational Qualifications
* Graduated in Classical Kuchipudi dance with the title Natya Visharada 1980
* B.A. (Madras University) and M.A. (Qual) from Australia in English Literature 1989
* Masters in Choreography, Rotterdam Dance Academy 2004

Community Work
Padma works with women’s shelters and human rights organizations in issues related to body and culture. She has created projects for schools in Holland dealing with social tensions including race and gender.

1 Published writer in Indian Express, India and by Orient Longman
2 Member of the inaugural Cultural Council in Canberra and of the Dance Committee    of the Australia Council (Federal Arts Funding body).
3 Featured as one of ten Australian choreographers in the publication, “A Passion for    Dance”, National Library of Australia ,1998.
4 President of Ausdance ACT for 2 terms
5 Participant in the International Dancelink workshop at Korzo Theatre (October 2001)
6 Choreography lab with Andre Gingras -March 2004
7 Represented the Netherlands as one of 3 Dutch choreographers at the DanceUSA    conference, Pittsburgh USA, June 2004

Critics Circle Award for Dance (Canberra, Australia) 1992, 1994 and 1996.
Artist of the Year (Canberra, Australia) 1994.
Nominated for Citizen of the Year (Canberra, Australia) 1995 .
Award in recognition of services to Kuchipudi dance, Kuchipudi Art Academy (India) 1995.
